This version is not a revolution but an ultime evolution of GuppY within the 4.x.x series

Here are the main innovations :

The great one : a Blog !

Engine :
* XHTML Validation
* Use of FCKEditor in its capacity as WYSIWYG editor
* Use of PGeditor in its capacity as standard editor
* Replacement of the short php tags for ensure php5 compatibility
* Many many little modifications here and there to improve a lot of things

Interface :
* Home : Choose between Blog or Portal
* You can rearrange the menu items via the mark
* The menu can be placed in a lateral box
* More positions for your lateral boxes
* One more position under the main middle box for an extra box
* The upper part of the page can be rearrange via Box config
* Possibility to connect/disconnect easily
* Add of a switching system for the resolution (deactivation in the skin)
* Logo and copyright in tiny pictures
* Replacement of the wysiwyg TypeTool editor by FCKeditor (xhtml compatible)
* Replacement of the admin mini-editor
* Replacement of the wysiwyg postguest editor by PGeditor
* Amelioration of the access and functionning without javascript

Administration :
* Divided in 4 sections: Skin configuration, General administration, Datas administration, Plugins administration

Skin Configuration
* Previewing of avatars, smileys, counter and icons
* Box Config more intuitive with 2 more lateral boxes, possibility to place another box in the middle column and/or in the bottom of the page, possibility to modify the items position of the upper part of the page.

General Administration
* The About section lets you check if you have the latest version of GuppY
* The About section gives you access to an abstract of information to paste in your posts on the forum.
* Editors became collaborators with 4 statuses : Editors, Moderator, Webmaster or Admin. This status is visible in the forum.
* The password of a collaborator is no more chosen by the admin: it’s his member password.
* Choice of the guestbook in home page, simplified.
* Possibility to add your ID of instantaneous meeting as a mean of contacting the webmaster.


Datas administration
* Quick admin according to each collaborator’s authorization

Plugins administration

* It is now possible to give some authorizations on plugin to editors.

• Documentations on skins and plugins for this new version 4.6.0
• Lists of plugins adapted to this version 4.6.0…

…and the creation of the FreeGuppY association http://asso.freeguppy.org/index.php?lng=fr of which statutes have been voted on June 2^nd of 2007, by the 20 founders members who have elected the office in compliance with statuses.
